look at this amazing walrus chair

Posted on September 10, 2011 at 02:46:11

i have never seen anything like it, and i have seen many chairs! this walrus chair is absolutely amazing. when i call it a walrus chair, i am not joking. it is a chair that looks almost exactly like a walrus, but you can sit on its back. it is just so life like.

the tusks and the head of the walrus are very well crafted. if you look at it from the front at a distance, you probably couldn't even tell that it's not a real walrus! the chair part looks very comfortable too. there is lots of padding in the seat and the back rest. of all the chairs i have seen, this is one of the most original!

these vases are really something

Posted on September 10, 2011 at 02:35:50

vases are one of my favorite pieces for living rooms. they just have so much potential! they can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and designs like these vases. i can't choose just one that i like the most! they're all so special in their own way.

the tall vase on the left has a simple shape but i think it is very regal. it is standing at attention. beside it are two vases that look similar but one is smaller and one is taller and larger. together they remind me of two people walking along the street on a fine evening. the short white oval one has a very eye catching pattern on it. it reminds me of computers, outer space and high technology. then behind it are two blue and white vases that are tall and they have unique cusps at the top. the wheel patterns on them make me think of horse drawn carriages. at the edges of the photo there are other vases but i can't really see them fully so i can't judge them.

a candle holder with so many possibilities

Posted on September 09, 2011 at 22:40:06

candles can really have a big impact on how a room looks and feels, especially during the evening or at night. candles can make or break a dinner party! so when you're going to be using candles, it's important to have as much flexibility as you can. that's why i think these candle holders that can be flipped upside down are a great idea.

one end of the candle holder has a smaller hole that's great for holding a long tapered candle. the other end of the candle holder has a wider opening so i can hold wider candles. so using the same candle holder you can have it hold a tall skinny candle during your dinner party, and then maybe the next day you can remove the candle, flip the candle holder over and use it for a smaller candle that lights up the room while you're spending a relaxing evening alone. it's just such a versatile candle holder!

bamboo is a great material for kitchens

Posted on September 08, 2011 at 01:59:17

i never realized how much potential that bamboo has when used as a material in kitchens. i've seen utensils made of bamboo and they work really well but that's not all that bamboo can be used for. it can even be used for kitchen shelving and cabinets!

bamboo really gives a kitchen a natural woody feel. i particularly like the shelving shown in some of the pictures. the rectangular compartments have a unique arrangement but they're also very practical. each shelf unit can store items inside it, but because of how they're offset it's also possible to store items like dishes and plates on top too!

after seeing these kitchens that use so much bamboo i want one too! the next time i redo a kitchen i know that i'm seriously going to consider using more bamboo for the shelving and cabinets and even tables.

a fantastic hexagonal walnut wood wine rack

Posted on September 08, 2011 at 01:28:58

a good vintage wine is one of my favorite drinks. everyone who enjoys wine knows that it's important to store your wine properly, and using a good wine rack is a must. i particularly like this wooden wine rack. the hexagonal shape lets it stack in a way that makes a unique shape. it's also made of walnut wood which i think gives it a great color and texture. this is the kind of wine rack that i'd be proud to store my fine wines in.
